Commendation of Officer Belcher & Officer Blimline
Chief Bruce Hedley would like to publicly commend Inv. Cody Belcher and Officer Andy Blimline for rescuing a young man struck by a train on March 2. They swiftly applied tourniquets to the boy’s severed legs and guided paramedics to his location by the tracks, demonstrating that selfless heroism and solid training can save lives.

Revision to Sec. 6-64. Distance requirements for alcohol sales.
The Alcohol Review Board met on December 15th and reviewed the proposed ordinance revision presented by Angela Couch. Proposed distance requirements are in accordance to State of Georgia requirements.

Staff Recommendations:
Staff recommends the approval of Ordinance 2017-509 revising Sec. 6.64 Distance requirements for Alcohol Sales in the Alcohol Ordinance.

Contract Renewal for Solid Waste Collection and Recycling Services
Our (City) contract with Advanced Disposal terminates on June 30, 2017. As a result, the City and Advanced Disposal have met to discuss a renewal and any changes to the current contract as reflected in Exhibit A. Please also find comparison tables regarding both residential and commercial rates. Please note that the City of Lilburn has the lowest residential rate (with all factors considered) and an extremely competitive rate for our commercial businesses. Staff recommends renewal with the term as outlined.
