Recycle Right

While recycling is the first step in the process, it’s important to put materials in the cart or bin that actually belong there. Most importantly, we need your help to reduce the contamination of clean recycling materials by separating those with organic material on them. Know before you throw! Waste Management WILL NOT PICK UP the following items. Customers may take these items to their nearest landfill.

  • Boarding
  • Decking
  • Sheetrock
  • Paint cans  
  • Carpet
  • Lumber
  • Roofing
  • Construction materials
  • Yard Waste: Leaves may be placed by the curb on your garbage collection day using the brown yard bags available at local hardware stores. Limbs, shrubbery, and small trees may be placed in a pile by the curb for the City of Lilburn chipper; review pick-up requirements.
  • Large Items:  Waste Management will pick up one bulk item per week per customer. This includes furniture and appliances. Advanced notice is required. Call 770-279-3703
  • Bulk Recycling: The City of Lilburn offers an annual Great American Cleanup Day in April for free disposal of recyclables and bulk trash. Visit the calendar to find details on this year's event.
