There is a public hearing scheduled for the February 8, 2021 City Council meeting. Anyone wishing to speak for or against the proposed text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance may do so by appearing in the Preston Room of City Hall at 340 Main Street, Lilburn. Staff members will be present to assist those wishing to speak via a Zoom connection to the Mayor and City Council from the Preston Room. In order to comply with social distancing guidelines issued by the CDC, the maximum capacity of the meeting room will be limited to the first 40 members of the public to arrive at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021.

PH Item 1 - Ordinance No. 2021-562 - 2021 Text Amendments to Zoning Ordinance Article 10, Section 1005 to expand powers of Zoning Board of Appeals.

Text amendments are necessary to accommodate changes in procedures for the exercise of zoning powers consistent with the Zoning Procedures Law, and City Zoning Ordinance accommodates text amendments in Section 1002.  Staff, under direction of City Council, proposes the duties of the Board of Adjustments be accomplished by and incorporated into the duties of the Zoning Board of Appeals.  Public hearing notice was provided and no public opposition was recorded.  The Planning Commission recommended approval of amendments following public hearing January 28, 2021.  Proposed Text Amendments to Article 10, Section 1005 are attached in Exhibit A.

Agenda Item 1 - Supplemental Intergovernmental Agreement to Provide 911 Services – City of Lilburn and Gwinnett County

Staff recommends approval of the referenced agreement. 
Gwinnett County E911 provides direct dispatch to Lilburn PD which requires compatibility between the two agencies. This supplemental agreement will enable the City of Lilburn to be reimbursed for eligible expenses related to upgrades (software/hardware) necessary to remain compatible with the 911 system.
