Governor's 4/23/2020 Reviving a Healthy Georgia Executive Order

On April 23, 2020 Governor Brian Kemp issued an executive order providing guidance for reviving a healthy Georgia in response to COVID-19. From May 1, when the Governor’s current Shelter in Place order expires, until May 13, when the Public Health State of Emergency is set to expire, provisions are in effect that require everyone to practice social distancing, limit gatherings, strongly encourage the use of face masks, practice the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sanitation guidelines, and extend the suspension of short-term rentals. Higher risk individuals, as defined by the CDC and outlined in the order, should continue to shelter in place through May 13.

The executive order provides additional guidance and measures that businesses must follow if they are planning to reopen to the public. Included are provisions for restaurants, which may resume dine-in service on April 27, 2020.
