Time To Update The City Comprehensive Plan

The City of Lilburn is pleased to announce ensuing efforts to update the City’s 2019 Comprehensive Plan, prepared with technical assistance from the Atlanta Regional Commission and a local steering committee.

Every five years, municipalities are required to review various community development goals as part of a 10-month plus process. The process is designed to encourage public input on topics such as housing, land use, transportation, broadband as well as regional coordination of growth. Public hearings are held to present various findings.

Adoption of a Comprehensive Plan that meets state standards allows us to maintain status as a Qualified Local Government by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). A DCA grant funds the ARC’s technical and staff assistance at no charge to the city.

Please look for outreach and input opportunities this summer if you are interested in being part of this important steering committee. Please contact City Planner Reid Turner (returner@cityoflilburn.com or Planning Director Joellen Wilson (jwilson@cityoflilburn.com via email or at 770-921-2210.
