Coloring Contest
Children in grades K-5 are encouraged to participate in the City of Lilburn’s holiday coloring contest, sponsored by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! Entry deadline is Friday, Nov. 15, by 5 p.m. Coloring sheets will be distributed at local schools and are available at www.cityoflilburn.com and at City Hall. Complete and official contest rules are included on the entry form. Winners will be announced at the City’s Tree Lighting on Saturday, Nov. 30. In addition to prizes, winners will have the opportunity to ride in the annual Lilburn Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Tree Lighting
The City’s Tree Lighting will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 5-8 p.m. at City Hall. In addition to the announcement of the coloring contest winners, children will have the opportunity to listen to a variety of holiday stories. Mrs. Claus and Mayor Johnny Crist will be among the readers, and Chopper from the Gwinnett Braves may be stopping by to lend a paw! The event will also include entertainment and activities, and food will be available for purchase.
Christmas Parade
Applications are being accepted through Nov. 15 for the Lilburn Christmas Parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “My Favorite Holiday Memory.” The City is excited to have Mrs. Claus serving as Grand Marshal! The parade takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. with activities following in Lilburn City Park. After the parade children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, ride the train and participate in other activities. Volunteers and sponsors are still needed for the parade.
