[ARCHIVED] Building projects in Lilburn

There is a lot happening in the City of Lilburn! Here is a list of upcoming or ongoing construction projects:
  • Old Town parking is being expanded this summer. The city parking lot between 1910 Public House and Music on Main Street has been redesigned to include more parking spaces. The lot will be closed during 45 days of construction, which began July 28.
  • Camp Creek Greenway is being prepped for replacement of the 988-foot bridge on the west side of Main Street headed toward Lions Club Park. In late August, GeoHydro will be doing soil borings at different locations in the area of the boardwalk replacement. No disruption of pedestrian/bike travel on the greenway is expected. Bridge construction will begin in 2018, with a date to be determined.
  • West Johns, Bradley Woods, and Old Manor roads will be updated this summer, following City Council approval of a contractor on July 10. Resurfacing work is expected to occur in early September.
  • The Enclave: The first five townhomes out of 25 total are nearing completion on Arcado Road.
  • East Highlands subdivision: Six model homes are under construction. The streets are completed, and the final plat has been submitted. The subdivision will have a total of 148 lots on 46 acres off N. River Drive.
  • First Avenue homes: A model home permit has been issued for a 9-lot pocket neighborhood at the site of the former City Hall Annex.
  • Earth Craft house: Tom Mills, who produces and hosts a green-lifestyle video series, is building an energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly “smart home” on First Ave. Find videos documenting  the construction progress on YouTube @GreenShortz GreenHouse.
  • Plaza Las Americas:  A grand opening is scheduled for July for this 140,000-square-foot indoor mall, including a number of businesses and food court.
  • Branded Barrel: This package store on Pleasant Hill Road is set to open in July.
  • Take 5 Oil Change: Construction is wrapping up on an oil change service at 4290 Lawrenceville Hwy.
  • Lilburn Middle School: Parking lot and building renovation plans are in progress for the school.
