[ARCHIVED] Weather conditions in Lilburn

Updated at 8 a.m. Dec. 9:  

Please stay off the roads until conditions improve. Lilburn police and public works are on standby to clear roads and direct traffic, as needed. 

Lilburn City Hall-Library is closed Saturday, Dec. 9. 

Trash service that was suspended Friday by Advanced Disposal will be picked up on Monday.


From the Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management:

Advisories:
•Gwinnett County is currently under a Winter Storm Advisory, which will remain in effect through 10am this morning.  At that point, the precipitation is expected to leave the area.

Primary Threats and Impacts:
•Patchy black ice will be a threat through mid-morning, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as near areas of runoff from heavy snow.
•Low temperatures tonight will likely be the coldest we have seen so far this winter.
•Any residual moisture left on roads this evening will likely re-freeze.

Timing:
•Abundant sunshine is expected by noon and will persist through the day. Temperatures should rise into the 40s this afternoon.
