Old Town Lilburn has been transformed by the recent addition of a state-of-the-art city hall and library building, a new Main Street including two roundabouts, and sidewalks connecting the city’s amenities. The city center is bustling with concerts on Main Street, visitors coming to try “Atlanta’s Best Burger,” one of the “Best Antique Stores in Gwinnett,” and the county's first distillery. More than 225 new residences are slated for construction in Old Town Lilburn, including townhouses, condos, single-family homes, and senior living. All will be within walking distance of new shopping and dining destinations, along with Lilburn City Park and Camp Creek Greenway.
The City of Lilburn is a Georgia Main Street affiliate and a member of the National Main Street Center. The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority serves as the board that oversees this volunteer-driven program that supports downtown businesses.
All interested business owners and residents are invited to join one of the following committees, based on the Main Street 4-Point Approach:• Design (attractive buildings and streets, inviting atmosphere, memorable experiences, safety, cleanliness)• Organization (identifying and recruiting Main Street partners, organizing volunteers, securing funding for projects)• Promotion (developing a brand, identifying target audiences, educating people about the district, bringing in visitors)• Economic Growth (assessing business inventory downtown, identifying ways to strengthen existing businesses, making downtown more attractive for new businesses)
