The City of Lilburn has started a Main Street Program that will get business owners and residents more involved in the future growth of downtown.
Downtown Lilburn can’t succeed without the input and dedication of volunteers willing to work toward a common goal. Change won’t happen overnight but with volunteers like you, Lilburn’s Main Street Program can develop the downtown area into the hub of activity it once was! This is a great opportunity to be involved in your community and share your knowledge and expertise.
“The new Main Street Program will help business owners and their customers, especially the people of Lilburn, work more directly with city government to make Main Street Lilburn a vibrant attraction in our community,” Music on Main Street and DDA member Scott Mecredy said.
The Main Street Program is founded on a philosophy that a city’s downtown is the center of community life, and that a strong downtown creates a stronger community.
Get involved! The DDA is currently forming volunteer task forces for Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Restructuring, which are the four points of the Main Street approach. Contact Doug Stacks, DDA Secretary, 770-921-2210, dstacks@cityoflilburn.com, or attend a DDA meeting, held the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
