[ARCHIVED] Public hearings scheduled for property tax rate

The public is invited to comment on the 2019 property tax rate prior to adoption by Lilburn City Council. The property tax rate is proposed to remain the same, 4.43 mills.

Hearings are scheduled at the following times and dates at Council Chambers in Lilburn City Hall, 340 Main St., Lilburn, GA:

June 27, 2019 at 10 a.m.

June 27, 2019 at 6 p.m.

July 8, 2019 at 6 p.m

City Council is scheduled to adopt the millage rate at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at Lilburn City Hall.

The total estimated amount of property taxes to be collected is $2,120,388, which is 6.64 percent more than the previous year. This estimate includes changes in the assessed value of properties, pending appeals, as well as new growth.

Property taxes make up 29 percent of the annual operating budget of $8,291,161 and 19 percent of the overall budget of $12,333,486.

City Council approved the 2019-2020 budget on June 10, 2019. The budget takes effect on July 1, 2019.
