                                                                                                                Rooftops or Restaurants?

This is not an either-or question.

Rooftops personified [think of residents looking for amenities] have some expectation of the type of enjoyable food experiences they would like. Families with young children have a different need than do empty nesters or dating singles. Quick-food options, of which we have many, serve a purpose, but citizens like to have up-scale dining for that occasional date night or special occasion.

Restaurateurs similarly look at the demographic and population density of a potential market. If the rooftops are not already built out, developers look at the zoning map of a municipality for locations that have potential. Developers and investors are taking notice of Lilburn because of our intentionality in approving those developments that will bring a dynamic population to support their investments.

Lilburn has not slowed down during the pandemic. Over 240 building permits have been issued over the last year. This includes townhomes and single-family detached offerings. Developments have been selling as fast as they are built.

Much of the residential project underway are an easy walk to Old Town. Not surprisingly, the restaurants envisioned are in Old Town as well. There is potential for three café locations of different genres. Right along with these are plans for the former Builder’s Steel to be developed as a brewery with retail/food hall features.

So – rooftops AND restaurants. That’s the answer to the question!

Thank you for loving Lilburn and we hope others “Rediscover Lilburn,” too.
