The public is invited to comment on the 2024 property tax rate prior to its adoption by the Lilburn City Council. The property tax rate is proposed to remain the same as the 2023 property tax rate at 4.43 mills.
Real and personal property taxes make up approximately 29 percent of the city’s general fund budget. This estimate includes changes in the assessed value of properties, pending appeals and new growth.
The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $212,700 (median home value per 2020 census in Lilburn) is approximately $37.08 and the proposed increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $212,700 is approximately $39.39.
City Council is scheduled to adopt the 2024 millage rate at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 8, 2024, in Council Chambers, 340 Main St.
