Board Members being sworn in

City of Lilburn 2021 Mayor and Council Appointments

The City of Lilburn approved various appointments for Mayor-pro Tem, City Attorney, legal organ, council responsibilities, municipal judges, and solicitors. The Mayor and Council approved the Merit Boards, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority, appointees. Vote: 3-0.

2021 City of Lilburn General Municipal Election Announced

The City of Lilburn will hold a General Election on November 2, 2021, for City Council posts offices post 3 and 4. Per state law, the City must advertise the positions, qualifying fees, and election schedule by February 1. Mayor and Council approved the resolution providing the 2021 election schedule. Vote: 3-0.


NOTICE OF QUALIFYING DATES FOR CITY OF LILBURN
MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION


Notice is hereby given that a General Election for the City of Lilburn will be held on November 2, 2021, at Lilburn City Hall, 340 Main Street, Lilburn, GA, for the offices of two council members (Posts 3 & 4). Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Sec. 21-2-132 (c)(3)(A), all persons desiring to run for office shall qualify in the office of the Municipal Superintendent (City Clerk), on the second floor of City of Lilburn City Hall, beginning August 16, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. and ending August 18, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. The qualifying fee for councilmembers is $105.00. The last day to register and be eligible to vote in this election will be October 4, 2021. Advanced (Absentee In-Person) voting begins on October 11 through October 29, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The polls will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. This said notice is given to satisfy the requirements of O.C.G.A. Sec. 21-2-132(d)(3).

ELECCIÓN GENERAL MUNICIPAL

Se da aviso de que se realizará una Elección General para la Ciudad de Lilburn el 2 de Noviembre de 2021 en el Ayuntamiento de Lilburn, 340 Main Street, Lilburn, GA para las oficinas de dos miembros del consejo (Puestos 3 y 4). De acuerdo con O.C.G.A. Sec. 21-2-132 (c)(3)(A), todas las personas que deseen postularse calificarán en la oficina del Superintendente Municipal (Secretario Municipal), en el segundo piso de la Ciudad de Lilburn, a partir del 16 de Agosto, 2021 a las 8:30 a.m. y terminando el 18 de Agosto de 2021 a las 5:00 p.m. La tarifa que califica para el miembro del consejo es de $105.00. El último día para registrarse y ser elegible para votar en esta elección será el 4 de Octubre de 2021. La votación avanzada (en persona en ausencia) comienza el 11 de Octubre hasta el 29 de Octubre, de 8:30 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. Las encuestas estarán abiertas el día de las elecciones de 7:00 a.m. hasta las 7:00 p.m. Este aviso se da para satisfacer los requisitos de O.C.G.A. Ordinance Amendment to comply with HB242

The City of Lilburn Mayor and Council approved Ordinance No. 2021-560, which amends Article IV of the city code, Massage Establishments, of Chapter 14, Businesses.  The amendment recognizes massage therapists as healthcare professionals and gives the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy the power to regulate the practice of massage therapy in Georgia. It also removes municipalities' ability to limit where a massage therapy business can be located, prohibit off-premise and mobile services from being licensed, or collect fees that are different from other licensed healthcare professionals.  Vote: 3-0.

Ordinance revising the Merit System

The Mayor and Council approved the updates to the Merit Board System Ordinance and the associated Personnel Policies and Procedures.  These changes included revisions to the Merit System Ordinance Article II, Section 50-29, 50-30, and 50-23.  There were also changes to Item 1-3 in the Personnel Policies and Procedures. Vote: 3-0

  • The City Hall-Library building will be closed on January 18, 2021, for Martin Luther King Day.
  • The City of Lilburn will hold their 2021 Annual Planning Retreat on January 16, 2021, at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Center.
