City of Lilburn approves the FY 2021/2022 Budget

Lilburn City Council held the FY 2021/2022 Budget public hearing as required by state law on May 10, 2021.  City staff proposed a budget of $13,984,809 for FY2021/2022.  The budget is divided into seven funds:

Fund 100:  General Fund - $8,858,828
Fund 210:  Confiscated Assets Fund - $50,011
Fund 230:  School Zone Safety Fund - $175,000
Fund 270:  Tax Allocation District Fund - $415,021
Fund 323:  2017 SPLOST Fund - $2,121,125
Fund 350:  Capital Projects Fund - $1,289,824
Fund 745:  Municipal Court Fund - $1,075,000 

The budget was based on the revenues that were projected with the millage rate remaining at 4.43 mils. Vote: 3-0.

City Council approves Resolution establishing FY2021/2022 Fee Schedule

The City Council approved Resolution No. 2021-02 establishing the FY 2021-2022 fee schedule for the City of Lilburn.  The fee schedule includes an increase to the temporary use permit, an additional fee to inspect temporary power poles, and an increase in fees associated with small wireless facilities in the cities right-of-way.  There is also a transaction fee for online payments and an administrative fee per month per residential service unit to the monthly fee for residential solid waste collection.  An increase in streetlights fees and a new rental fee for the new Calvin Fitchett Pavilion was approved.  Vote: 3-0.

Billing date for Ad Valorem Property Taxes, Streetlights Assessments and solid Waste Fees Approved

Council approved by resolution to establish September 15, 2021 as the billing date and November 15, 20201 as the collection date for City of Lilburn's ad valorem property taxes, streetlight assessments, and solid waste fees. Partial payments will be distributed between items billed per individual bill. Vote: 3-0.

Other Business and Upcoming Events  

  • The Lilburn Mayor and Council approved the amendment to the City's General and Administrative Policies and Procedures, Section 33 - Minimum Requirements for Potential City and/or DDA Business Partners on Redevelopment Projects. Vote 3-0.
  • Council authorized the cooperation agreement between the City of Lilburn and Gwinnett County regarding the Community Development Block Grant. Vote 3-0.
  • Council approved the amendment to the City of Lilburn's Election ordinance to be in compliance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-132(c)(3) regarding qualifying week. Vote: 3-0
  • Council approved Ordinance No. 2021-568 amending FY 2020-2021 annual budget to increase public utilities budget by $20,000 and public works municipal buildings budget by $15,000 and reduce police by $35,000. Vote 3-0.
