Text Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Sign Ordinance  

The Lilburn City Council voted to table both the Public Hearing Item No. 1 - Text Amendments to Zoning Ordinance, Article 5, Section 502 proposed to address signage standards within the Main Street Hospitality Zone and larger Town Center Overlay District. and Agenda Item No. 1 - Text Amendments to City Code Chapter 113-Sign Ordinance to add and amend definitions, clarify the text, and add standards for signage within the Town Center Overlay District. Vote: 4-0.

Right-of-Way Deed from Lilburn Downtown Development Authority

City Council approved the acceptance of a right-of-way deed from the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority at 57 Railroad Ave. The city completed design and engineering for the construction of streetscape improvements along Main Street and Railroad Avenue. The improvements on Railroad Avenue include upsizing the water main from 8” to 12”, a construction project that will be managed by Gwinnett County and funded jointly by Lilburn and Gwinnett County (90/10). The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority owns 57 Railroad Avenue, and the city requires the dedication of 0.098-acre of this property to the city for the planned streetscape and water main improvements. Vote: 4-0.

Request to install stop sign at the intersection of Lilburn School Road and Pop Johnson Road

City Council approved the installation of two new stop signs at the intersection of Lilburn School Road and Pop Johnson Road for safety purposes.  A resident from Sterling Trace requested the stop sign for through traffic on Lilburn School Road at the intersection of Pop Johnson Road.  There is a stop sign currently but there is a need for two additional stop signs at the three-way intersection to enhance safety. Vote: 4-0
