Parking lot bid awarded

City Council awarded the bid for a new +/- 100 space City of Lilburn parking lot located on Railroad Avenue in Lilburn City Park to Kennedy and Tillman, LLCOn September 24, 2018 the City received four (4) bids, with the lowest responsible bidder being Kennedy and Tillman in the amount of $196,285.00. Vote: 4-0

Comprehensive Plan Update 

An Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) representative and City of Lilburn staff presented an update of the Comprehensive Plan 2019. This presentation at the City Council Meeting was the second public input opportunity in the planning process. The first took place in September 2018. City Council approved the transmittal of the draft document to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA).
Every 5 years municipalities are required to update their Comprehensive Plan. The city announced the planning process and timeline at April's City Council Meeting. The Comprehensive Plan sets the direction and focus for planning for the city for the next five years. A Steering Committee comprised of 8-10 Lilburn resident volunteers have been meeting over the past few months to identify assets and challenges, identify goals, and help develop a plan. A draft of the Comprehensive Plan will be available for residents to view at Lilburn City Hall and on the city's website. Vote: 4-0

Lease for bus restaurant site approved

City Council approved a lease between the City of Lilburn and the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for the bus restaurant site located at Lilburn City Park. The property on which the bus, trailer/kitchen, patio, and storage is located belongs to the City of Lilburn. The DDA will lease this site, which measure approximately 50' x 80' for the next five years. The DDA currently owns the bus, trailer/kitchen, and storage located on the property. Agavero Cantina Parkside plans to open as early as this week at the double-decker bus restaurant located at Lilburn City Park. Vote: 4-0

Other Business

  • City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Lilburn and the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority. This agreement allows for the advance of $195,000 plus closing costs to the DDA for the purpose of purchasing the property located at 4865 Velva Way. Vote: 4-0
  • A Distilled Spirit Alcohol License was approved for Versace Dominican Restaurant 1Y Ma Inc., located at 510 Pleasant Hill Road, Ste. D. The license was effective immediately upon approval. Vote: 4-0
  • The following upcoming events were announced; Lilburn Daze Arts and Crafts Festival on Oct. 13, Lilburn Food Truck Tuesday on Oct. 16, Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 12, and Lilburn Tree Lighting on Nov. 17.
