City Council approved with conditions the rezoning of approximately 7 acres of property at 242 and 280 Rockbridge Road from Commercial Business (CB) to Medium Density Residential (R-2). The property was zoned as CB-Commercial Business in 2011 with the adoption of the 2011 Zoning Ordinance, but has never developed commercially. The applicant intends to develop a residential subdivision with 49 townhomes. Vote: 3-0
Lilburn Industrial Way sewer
City Council approved an ordinance in accordance with an intergovernmental agreement(s) with Gwinnett County and Gwinnett Water and Sewerage. The ordinance regards the mandatory sewer hook-up and pretreatment provisions of the IGA for Lilburn Industrial Way. Vote: 3-0
Local veterans recognized
Local veterans were recognized during the City Council meeting. The meeting included the Presentation of Colors by Parkview High School MJROTC and the Pledge of Allegiance led by local Cub Scout Pack 502. Goldie Hatch from Providence School sang the National Anthem. The names of veteran city employees were read during the meeting in addition to the names of those honored in the city's Flag and Marker Program. At the end of the program, all veterans in attendance came to the front of the room so attendees could thank them for their service.
Other Business
City Council approved an amendment to the Alcohol Beverage Ordinance removing the advertisement requirement for businesses applying for a distilled spirit alcohol license. Vote: 3-0
