Comprehensive Plan Approved 

City Council approved Lilburn's Comprehensive Plan 2019-2023. City staff worked with the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Lilburn Steering Committee to compile the document and public comments were received through October 31, 2018. Every five years municipalities are required to update their Comprehensive Plan. The document satisfies the requirements to maintain the City’s Qualified Local Government status as determined by the Department of Community Affairs.  Vote: 3-0

Stream Buffer Ordinance Updated 

City Council approved an ordinance to adopt text amendments to the Stream Buffer Protection Ordinance and adopt the associated Lilburn Riparian Buffer Restoration Guidelines. The Stream Buffer Protection Ordinance was adopted in 2005. Some of the applicable definitions, land development requirements, exemptions, variances, appeals, and enforcement procedures were updated to comply with State laws and reflect the city’s standard procedures in administration of the code. Staff developed the Lilburn Riparian Buffer Restoration Guidelines based on common practices in the Metro North GA Water Planning District, but which is unique to Lilburn. Vote: 3-0

Other Business

  • City Council approved Ordinance # 2018-531 to repeal and replace the
    Floodplain Management/Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance, with
    an effective date of January 1, 2019 . Vote: 3-0
