Voigt appointed to Lilburn City Council

Lilburn City Council voted to accept the resignation of Council member Brian Burchik, effective January 1, 2019. Mr. Burchik has accepted the position of Main Street Manager for the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority. Vote: 3-0
City Council also voted to appoint Lindsay Voigt to fill the unoccupied seat vacated by Brian Burchik. Vote: 3-0

Mayor and Council appointments 

Each calendar year it is necessary for the Mayor and City Council to appoint the Mayor Pro-Tem, City Attorney, Legal Organ, Building Official, City Planner, Council Responsibilities, Municipal Judges and Solicitor(s), and members to all Commissions and Boards. The council voted unanimously to approve the following appointments.

  • Mayor Pro Tem – Tim Dunn
  • Parliamentary Procedures – Robert’s Rules of Order
  • City Attorney & Parliamentarian – Richard A. Carothers

General Election Schedule 

City Council approved Resolution #2019-01 providing for the 2019 City of Lilburn General Election Schedule and Qualifying Fees. This year is an election year for the office of Mayor and City Council Posts 1 and 2. Vote: 4-0
Council also approved inclusion of the "Brunch Bill" referendum on the ballot. Vote: 4-0

Park restroom bid approved

City Council approved bid to BM&K, and subcontractors as specified, in an amount not to exceed $777,189.00 for the construction of a new restroom facility in Lilburn City Park. Council authorized the City Manager to execute all contracts on behalf of the City of Lilburn. This project will be funded as follows: 50% SPLOST/Recreation and 50% Capital Projects Fund. Vote: 4-0

Other Business

  • The Lilburn Community Garden lease renewal was tabled until the February City Council meeting. Vote: 4-0
