Quitclaim deed approved

Lilburn City Council approved a quitclaim deed of property and rights-of-way contained within a 7.6+/- acre tract along Main Street and Hwy. 29 from the City of Lilburn to the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority. Prior to the closing of the 7.6 acres, the City must quitclaim the previous street and associated rights-of-way to the DDA. The property is to close on or before March 31, 2020. Vote: 4-0 

Zoning ordinance updates

Text amendments to the Lilburn Zoning Ordinance of 2011 were approved by Lilburn City Council. The amendments add or delete text, clarify or remove redundant language, provide consistency between codes, and add or amend sections in response to recommendations of staff and Planning Commission Hearing (Aug. 22, 2019). Amendments pertain to Articles 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11. Public notice was provided. Vote: 4-0 

Other Business

  • The following events were announced: Family Boxcar Drive-in Movie Night on October 19 in Lilburn City Park, Mayor's Town Hall Meeting on October 21 at Lilburn City Hall, and the Downtown Lilburn 5K & Fun Run on October 26 at Lilburn City Park. The next City Council Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Lilburn City Hall.

  • An alcohol license for consumption on premise for beer & wine was approved for Mama Empanadas, LLC., located at 605 Indian Trail Road, Ste. 207. Vote: 4-0
