Recycling rate increase approved

Lilburn City Council approved a rate increase for curbside recycling services effective Jan.1, 2020 in response to economic factors provided by Advance Disposal.  Each residential customer will see an increase of $0.36 per month or $4.32 annually. Vote: 4-0

Service Delivery Strategy (SDS) negotiations extended

City Council approved ratification of  SDS Form 5 -Certification for Extension of the Existing SDS, and Resolution 2019-07 to formally extend the SDS adoption until Feb. 2020. These actions accommodate continuing negotiations and commitment toward agreement on 911 services between sixteen cities and Gwinnett County. Vote: 4-0 

Veterans honored

City Council and attendees recognized veterans in a special program, which included Presentation of Colors by Parkview High School MJROTC, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Girl Scout Troop 4580 and Wolves of Pack 564, as well as the National Anthem  sung by Ms. Judah Huff of Providence Christian School.  The names of veterans honored through the city's Flag and Marker Program were presented, and the names and service years of veteran city employees were read aloud.  At the conclusion, attendees had an opportunity to recognize all veterans present at the meeting and thank each of them personally.

Other Business

  • The following city events were announced: Lilburn Tree Lighting on Nov. 23 and the Lilburn Christmas Parade on Dec. 7.
  • Also announced: Wynne-Russell House Open House and Bake Sale on Dec. 7.
