Do I have to go to court?

You must appear in court on your appointed court date for the following:

  • Any charge that may suspend your driver's license or is a fingerprintable offense.
  • If you are under the age of 21 or driving on a Class D license.
  • If you were cited as a result of a car accident, unless you can provide a letter from the insurance company stating that the claim has been closed.
  • If you did not have insurance on the day you were cited, you must come to court. If you did have insurance, you can bring a letter from your insurance company stating that your insurance was current when you received the citation. You must bring the letter to the Court Clerk’s Office prior to your court date.
