 Biography

Yoon-Mi Hampton was elected to the City Council after running in a special election for Post 1. Council member Hampton is completing the unexpired term of former Council member Lindsay Voigt that ends in December 2023. Voigt resigned because her family relocated outside the city limits. Councilmember Hampton has lived in Lilburn for 23 years. She is an African-Asian-American descent born in Korea. She is now the first Black councilmember in Lilburn and the first person of Asian descent to hold that role in Gwinnett County

Previous to the council, Council member Hampton served on the Lilburn Zoning Board of Appeals, and she is also a member of the Lilburn Woman's Club. She and her husband were also members of the first group to graduate from the Lilburn Citizens Police Academy.
