Responsibilities
A Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a seven-member board established by City Council and recognized by the State of Georgia as a public corporation. Its mission is to revitalize and redevelop the city’s central business district by promoting trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities. The DDA works to improve the overall public good by financing strategic projects and may issue bonds to support these efforts.
DDA also serves as the board for the city’s Main Street Program, an affiliate member of the Georgia Main Street sponsored by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
