The Lilburn Loop: January 19
RECAP From The 1/12 Council Meeting
At Monday night’s City Council meeting, Council held two public hearings. The first addressed amendments to ensure proper restoration of Railroad Avenue in the event of future street cuts for utility installation. This is particularly important as this section of Railroad Avenue will feature pavers following completion of the Porchline and Parking Deck project. The second public hearing considered a Special Use Permit for 406 Pleasant Hill Road to allow for an Auto and Truck Service Center, which was required due to the building being unoccupied since 2023. Both public hearing items were approved by Council.
Council also approved the 2026 Mayor and City Council appointments, adopted an ordinance adding a new section to Chapter 30 of the Lilburn City Code establishing Rules of Municipal Court, and approved a settlement agreement with Francis Cole at no cost to the City, closing out a Code Enforcement case.
A big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 504 from Trinity Lutheran for attending the meeting and leading the pledge to the flag.

First and Main Assemblage Update
Work is underway at the First Avenue and Main Street assemblage, a public-private partnership led by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to support future investment in Old Town Lilburn. Crews are preparing the 2.61-acre site for a mixed-use development, which is planned to include commercial space along Main Street and residential units along Velva Way.
Lewis Contracting Services began site work in early November, and crews are installating underground storm utilities. Site development is expected to continue through mid-summer 2026. As this project moves forward, all plans and renderings remain conceptual and subject to change. Updates will continue to be shared as progress is made. This project represents another step toward reinvestment in Old Town, and the City will continue to keep the community informed as work progresses.
